Advent 2023 with Pastor Jill and Rachel

Welcome to our Advent podcast for 2023. This year we are discussing a book that will hopefully help us dive deeper into the Christmas story than ever before. We are reading The First Advent in Palestine by Kelley Nikondeha.

In her book, Kelley explores the socio political and economic realities faced by people living in first century Palestine - people just like Mary and Joseph. We will follow a trinitarian rhythm with our episodes. The first day we will read a portion of the Bible that corresponds to the upcoming chapter. The second day Rachel, our CYF director, and Pastor Jill will discuss a single chapter. The third day we will share an Advent song for personal meditation. We will repeat this three day cycle until our final episode on Christmas Eve. Read the chapters beforehand so our discussions make sense.
